How SaaS Choice Lab evaluates software
Our goal is to make the reason behind a recommendation visible. We separate verifiable product facts from fit, trade-offs and commercial relationships.
1. Define the use case
We start with the buyer's job to be done, team size, workflow and constraints rather than starting with a product.
2. Verify current product facts
Features, pricing and policy claims are checked against current first-party documentation whenever possible. Dynamic information is described with a verification date or a reminder to check the vendor's current offer.
3. Compare total cost
Entry pricing can be misleading. We look at the plan, usage level, list size, seat count or add-ons needed for the intended use case.
4. Identify trade-offs
We explicitly note limits, complexity and situations where a simpler or more specialized product may be a better fit.
5. Disclose affiliate relationships
An affiliate relationship is disclosed on relevant pages. It does not guarantee a positive review or ranking.
6. Avoid unsupported rankings
We do not label a product “best overall” unless competing products have been evaluated using comparable criteria and current information.
